The Town promotes responsible pet ownership in an effort to maintain a safe and enjoyable community for both people and pets. Services related to animal care and control are set up to ensure that citizens with and without pets may enjoy amenities and a high standard of quality of life.

 

 

 

Rules at a glance:

1. No person shall allow a dog to be off the owner's property unless under control and leashed.

2. No person shall keep more than two (2) dogs per location anywhere in the Town of South Bruce Peninsula. A litter of pups is exempt and said litter of pups can remain with their mother until 12 weeks of age.

3. Any person(s) owning more than two dogs prior to February 22, 2011 may keep said dogs, but must not replace them unless a valid boarding establishment-no breeding licence is obtained.

4. Every owner of a dog shall remove forthwith excrements left by the dog anywhere in the Town of South Bruce Peninsula and including the "DOLRA".

5. Dog licensing fees must be renewed each year. (Current rates are included in the Fee By-law)

5. Dogs are not permitted on Sauble Beach (Note: Please refrain from leaving your pets in the car while at the beach. They cannot handle the intense heat and will dehydrate very quickly. They are much more comfortable if left at home or at the cottage.)
