The Town promotes responsible dog ownership in an effort to maintain a safe and enjoyable community for both people and pets.
Rules at a glance:

The Town of South Bruce Peninsula is a leashed Municipality. No person shall allow a dog off the owner’s property unless under control and leashed or in the “Dogs Off Leash Recreation Area (DOLRA)".

No person shall keep more than (two) 2 dogs per location anywhere in the Town of South Bruce Peninsula.

Any person(s) owning more than (two) 2 dogs prior to 2008 may keep said dogs, but must not replace them unless a valid boarding establishment-no breeding licence is obtained.

Every owner of a dog shall remove forthwith excrement left by the dog anywhere in the Town of South Bruce Peninsula and including in the “Dogs off Leash Recreation Area”.

Dogs are not permitted on Sauble Beach from May 1st to September 30th in each and every year.
Dog licensing fees must be renewed each year.
