Public Works is Responsible for the following services:
Waste Management/ Garbage Collection
Public Works cleans up Town beaches in the spring and maintains them through the season. The water quality at the beaches is monitored by Grey-Bruce Public Health. In the event Public Health considers a beach bacteriologically unsafe a sign will be posted.
Sauble Beach is a Blue Flag Beach and home to the endangered species the Piping Plover. Special maintenance care is required to protect the Piping Plover during breeding season.

Repair and maintain roads, bridges and culverts on local Town roads.
Winter Maintenance
Winter Maintenance Activities are performed from November 1 to March 31 of each year. The Town of South Bruce Peninsula completes its winter maintenance in accordance with the Minimum Maintenance Standards for Ontario Highways. Accordingly the Town of South Bruce Peninsula Roads are patrolled to document conditions and call out plows. If you would like to call attention to an issue on your road email us.
The Town of South Bruce Peninsula has a sidewalk clearing by-law. #90-2001 and #16-2008. In accordance with this by-law sidewalks are to be cleared by the owner or occupant of each property by 9AM.
Road Restrictions
As of March 5, 2010 Road Restrictions in effect for all Town of South Bruce Peninsula roads - 5 tonnes per axle.
Maintenance of the Water and Sanitary Sewers is completed under contract by the Ontario Clean Water Agency (OCWA).
