With extreme heat in the forecast, the Town of South Bruce Peninsula is opening Cooling Centres to help residents and visitors stay safe and comfortable during this severe heat event.
Beginning Monday, June 23, Cooling Centres will be open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and will remain open until the end of the heat wave at the following locations:
- Wiarton Arena and Community Centre – 526 Taylor Street, Wiarton
- Sauble Beach Community Centre – 30 Community Centre Drive, Sauble Beach
Both centres are air-conditioned and equipped with water fountains for filling reusable water bottles. These facilities offer a safe, cool space for anyone needing relief from the extreme heat.
We encourage all residents to take precautions during this time, including staying hydrated, limiting outdoor activity during peak heat, and checking in on vulnerable friends, family, and neighbours.
