Compliance Audit Committee |
This Committee operates in accordance with the provisions contained in the Municipal Elections Act. This is a mandatory Committee. Members of Council do not serve on this Committee.
This Committee meets to consider compliance audit applications received from an elector by the Clerk. Applications can be filed after a Municipal Election. If the Committee feels that the application has merit, the Committee appoints an independent auditor to review the election expenses. They receive the auditor's report and if the report concludes that there appears to be a contravention of the Municipal Elections Act, the Committee decides whether or not legal proceedings should be started.

Citizen Self Reporting - Ontario Provincial Police |
The Ontario Provincial Police is pleased to offer Citizen Self Reporting an alternative reporting option that allows the public to report specific crimes to police via the internet, anywhere, anytime. The OPP's Citizens Self Reporting system allows members of the public to use a computer or mobile device to report an incident without requiring an officer to attend the scene. Citizen Self Reporting is simple and convenient and can be used when reporting incidents that do not involve injury or a suspect, or a crime that is not an emergency. The use of this new system is completely optional. Police will still attend a call for service if desired.

Publicly Accessible Automated External Defibrillators (AED's) |
AED's are small portable devices which are used to aid in a sudden cardiac arrest situation where paramedics have not yet arrived on scene. It should be noted that they are not to take the place of Emergency Services and the first step people should take in an emergency is to call 911.
AED units are easily powered on and then provide simple audio and/or visual prompts that lead the user through their proper use. AED's are able to analyze activity of the heart and determine if an application of a shock would be beneficial.
Publicly Accessible Automated External Defibrillators in the Town of South Bruce Peninsula are located in the following locations and may not always be available subject to season and hours of operation of the facility and location. In case of emergency please remember to call 911 as your first course of action.
- Wiarton Arena and Community Centre (526 Taylor St, Wiarton, ON N0H 2T0)
- Bluewater Park Pool (440 George St, Wiarton, ON N0H 2T0)
- Town of South Bruce Peninsula Town Hall (315 George St, Wiarton ON N0H 2T0)
