Notice of Public Meeting - Stop Up and Close and Surplus Declaration for Lane B Plan 379

Public Notice

This notice is given pursuant to Town requirements related to the disposal of Town lands. 

The Town proposes to dispose of Lane B Pl 379 N of Kathleen Av; South Bruce Peninsula (PIN 33140-0291 LT) in the former Township of Albemarle.  The intention of Council is to sell the property to the owner of 409 Mallory Beach Road, the abutting property.

The property has not been declared surplus to Town needs at this time.  Lands declared surplus are to be conveyed to those individuals as accepted by Council in accordance with confidential agreements of purchase and sale.

Prior to any surplus declaration, Council must adopt a by-law to stop up and close Lane B Plan 379.  Council will not consider a by-law and surplus declaration until they have held a public meeting.

A public meeting will be held in the Municipal Council Chambers on May 20, 2025 at 9:00 am to receive comments with respect to the potential by-law to stop up and close the lane and the potential surplus declaration and sale. Any person or agency representative may attend the said public meeting and make verbal representation in support or opposition to the potential surplus declaration.

Written comments will be received by the undersigned until May 9, 2025 at 4:30 pm.  Please note that written comments submitted will be subject to rules of procedure and may be read in whole, in part or may not be read at all at the public meeting.
