Notice of Public Meeting - Stop Up and Close Road Allowance

This notice is given pursuant to Town requirements related to the disposal of Town lands. 

The Town proposes to dispose of Pcl Reserves-1 Sec 3M131, Blk 59 Pl 3M131; South Bruce Peninsula (PIN 33161-0235 LT) and Pcl Streets-1 Sec 3M131; Trillium Circle Pl 3M131; South Bruce Peninsula (33161-0208 LT) in the former Township of Amabel.  The intention of Council is to sell the property to the owner of Block 26 Plan 3M148, the abutting property.

The property has not been declared surplus to Town needs at this time.  Lands declared surplus are to be conveyed to those individuals as accepted by Council in accordance with confidential agreements of purchase and sale.

Prior to any surplus declaration, Council must adopt a by-law to stop up and close Pcl Streets-1 Sec 3M131; Trillium Circle Pl 3M131; South Bruce Peninsula (33161-0208 LT) and release the one-foot reserve known as Pcl Reserves-1 Sec 3M131, Blk 59 Pl 3M131; South Bruce Peninsula (PIN 33161-0235 LT).  Council will not consider a by-law and surplus declaration until they have held a public meeting.

A public meeting will be held in the Municipal Council Chambers on November 18, 2025 at 9:00 am to receive comments with respect to the potential by-law to stop up and close the lands, release the one-foot reserve, the potential surplus declaration and sale. Any person or agency representative may attend the said public meeting and make verbal representation in support or opposition to the potential surplus declaration.

Written comments will be received by the undersigned until November 12, 2025 at 4:30 pm.  Please note that written comments submitted will be subject to rules of procedure and may be read in whole, in part or may not be read at all at the public meeting.
