South Bruce Peninsula has a variety of indoor and outdoor facilities which are host to a number of year-round recreation programs. 

You can book a accessible mobi-chair to use to access the water in Bluewater Park. Email Recreation and Parks for more information. 

There are also many community organizations which offer activities for the community to enjoy.

Youth Rec -Ball Hockey (ages 5-15)

Let's play ball hockey!

This youth recreational activity will provide youth the opportunity to get back in the arena and have some fun playing ball hockey. Sessions will run in hour long timeslots based on age group. Program runs on Wednesday evenings from April 23rd to June 25th.

Please note: this is not a league and minimal skills instruction will be offered. 

$50/child for a 10 week session

Safety equipment required: CSA approved hockey helmet with cage, hockey gloves, stick
*A minimum of 8 participants are required for this program to run

6pm to 7pm -open to youth ages 8-11 Register Online

7pm to 8pm -open to youth 12-15 Register Online

Pickleball Lessons: Beginner Learn to Play/Intro Lessons 

Interested in learning about pickleball and building your beginner skills? Join us for this 2 week session where you will learn the rules of the game, understand scoring, basic skills and apply these skills during game play.

This program is designed for anyone who considers themselves new to pickleball or a beginner who has played a few times.

Monday evenings from 7pm to 9pm

-No pickleball on Feb 17, March 10 

(Please note: this program is cancelled if the school is closed and on school holidays including Family Day and March Break)

Indoor Walking

Free indoor walking Wednesday morning at the Sauble Beach Community Centre. 

Wednesdays from 9am to 10am from October 16th to May 14th

Walk the auditorium and keep moving through the cold and blustery days in our indoor space. 

Drop in, no registration required. Remember your indoor shoes!

Karate

Karate with Grey-Bruce Ryusei Karate Do

Learn punches, kicks, strikes, blocks, throws, joint locks and pressure-point tactics.

Instructors: Peter Zehr (6th degree black belt, Renshi) & Matt Mannerow (5th degree black belt, Shihan)

Please note: Session 3 will now end on June 10, 2025 due to facility availability.

Funding for youth activities may be available through applying to Canadian Tire Jumpstart and KidSport Canada.   

Sailing Club

Located at the Wiarton Marina, the Brakewinders are a not-for-profit group dedicated to bringing the excitement and wisdom of sailing to a new generation. They work to provide a safe and fun environment where everyone is encouraged to push their limits and learn new skills. 

Their courses are led by certified Sail Canada instructors and we follow the CANSail curriculum. Learn more online.

Tennis

There are three tennis courts in South Bruce Peninsula that are used for Tennis and Pickleball in the summer months. 
Tennis Pass holders can use the courts during reserved times, all other times are first come first served and pay as you play.

  • Bannister Park (Sauble)
